Polka Dots

Another favorite fall trend for me is polka dots. Here are a few ways to bring them into your wardrobe:

Polka Dots

Add polka dots using a scarf here. Look at details here.

Finally, what would be a good blog article without nail tutorials. Want to polka dot your nails? click here for a tutorial.

Add yellow polka dots to your office wear by incorporating booties, a classic bag from Coach and a black blazer. Check more ideas out here, here, and here.

A perfect compliment to a grey polka dot dress is a pink sweater and pink clutch. Check out more views here.

Today I have a fun post for all of you. I am going to show you some of my favorite pins for Autumn inspiration:

DIY Polka Dot Eyeglass Case (15 Minutes)

I am so excited about how this project turned out. Not to mention, how incredibly easy it was to make! I spent a total of $0.50 on the felt fabric and I had the white thread on hand. I am one of those blond eye lash girls who cannot drive, walk or even step foot out into the bright sun without a pair of sunglasses. It seems as if from time to time, I leave my glasses in the bottom of my purse only to find them scratched by the random, loose objects like coins or keys. Well, look no further! I have created a simple, easy project for the most beginners in sewing.

I was out shopping at Hobby Lobby this weekend and in the craft isle I found a cute pink polka dot piece of felt. The felt was 2 pieces for a dollar, so I picked two pieces up. If you are using a fabric that has two tones, you will want to select thread that matches the lighter of the two colors. Here my fabric was pink and white, so I decided to stick with white thread. Plus, I had it on hand. This project takes 2 seams and very minimal supplies. It could be easily produced by hand if you do not have a sewing machine.

Materials Needed:
  • 1 piece of felt (50 cents)
  • matching thread (I had some on hand, but it would cost $2.75 from Hobby Lobby brand new)
  • scissors
  • needle/sewing machine

Fold the fabric in half and trim to the size of your sunglasses.
Fold the fabric in half and sew along the bottom about a 1/4 inch from the edge. Leave one end open.

Clip the bottom of the eyeglass case corner.

Fold the top down about an inch and sew a 1/4 inch seam.
Flip it inside out and ta - da! You have a brand new eyeglass case.
